Business Area

Empire Today’s Market Operations team is an integral part of our company's business strategy and include local personnel managing warehouses, product receipt and distribution, customer service, full life cycle of customer orders, and installation management.  This enables installers to deliver upon our commitment to our customers and support the success of Empire Today.

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Warehouse Support, assists, and/or guides Distribution Center and Satellite Warehouses as needed to drive improvements in operational KPIs related to the flow of merchandise from our vendors through our DCs/Satellite warehouses and ultimately to our customers.    The Senior Manager will be asked to travel to a warehouse to install our new operating system D365, cover leadership gaps in operations and contribute to the development and rollout of new processes & projects across all locations as part of the Warehouse Operations leadership team. 

  • Becomes a subject matter expert in our new ERP operating system D365 and provides onsite training and support for each market’s installation while providing help resolving issues post install.
  • Develops new process improvements which leverage the new system to further improve operations, inventory utilization/accuracy and customer service across the entire network
  • Provides interim leadership in various locations as needed to cover leadership staffing gaps or special projects.
  • Travels to different markets to finalize the physical requirements for the new operating system: racking layouts, building configuration, physical location map and translation into the new system: both actual location and physical inventory.
  • Focus on driving incremental inventory accuracy, improvements to fill rate and reduction in shrink/swell variability to improve inventory turns while reducing out of stocks.
  • Reviews and analyzes operational results and defines new procedures and parameters to improve work quality by reducing Out of Stocks and inventory write offs while achieving operating budgets.
  • Proactively identifies, troubleshoots, and solves, all concerns that arise with warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for the development and training of the Warehouse Team: DCs and Satellites.
  • Utilizes all financial reports and metrics to effectively coach and manage individual locations to achieve targeted results. Analyzes business results using the required reports and develops and executes action plans for improvement.
  • Supports all strategic business development.
  • Dedicated proactive commitment to improving our customer service and culture of our employees.
  • Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • High School Diploma/GED required, Associates or bachelor’s degree in Operations Management preferred
  • Five (5) years operations related experience in retail, consumer products or warehouse environment
  • Experience installing a new warehouse/ERP operating system: issue identification/resolution, process development, training, installation and post install follow up and issue resolution.
  • Proven systems/operational expert with a quick learning curve in various warehouse systems.
  • Experience with financial analysis and creating action plans to improve the budget and operating metrics.
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook,)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills

  • Ability to multi-task; strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently; and ability to set priorities, solve problems and meet deadlines.
