Business Area

Empire Today’s Human Resources department is a critical component to meeting our business needs through managing our most valuable resources – our employees.  The essential functions of the department include recruiting, safety, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and training and development.

Responsibilities

The Knowledge Specialist, a key figure within the organization, is responsible for identifying, collecting, synthesizing, organizing and managing organizational knowledge pertaining to the Company and its effective operation to serve as performance support to the Empire Today workforce.

  • Implement, administer and maintain the knowledge base for Empire Today including capturing, organizing and developing knowledge and expertise from stakeholders;
  • Oversee content strategy, content schedules and business requirements gathering;
  • Interview and understand user needs, problems and concerns and create strategies to build content;
  • Write, produce and deliver relevant, effective and high-quality content deliverables in a variety of formats;
  • Communicate change management strategies and enforce policy adherence;
  • Internally advocate for and market knowledge tools for increased usage;
  • Create and implement effective organizational tools for evaluating, assessing and communicating the impact of the knowledge base;
  • Analyze best practices, challenges, and on-going maintenance of the knowledge base;
  • Work with L&D partners to ensure alignment with instructional design and training delivery initiatives;

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (Organizational Development, Knowledge Management, Organizational Learning);
  • Two to four years’ experience in knowledge management;
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills and strong verbal communication skills required;
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (e.g., Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel) required;
  • Proficiency with Madcap Flare (or similar tools) preferred;
  • Design, photo and video editing skills a plus;
  • Ability to take initiative, be proactive without waiting for direction;
  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities;
  • Superior organizational skills, project management and attention to detail;
  • Must have a big picture focus in both departmental and company strategy;
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
