Business Area

Empire Today’s Human Resources department is a critical component to meeting our business needs through managing our most valuable resources – our employees.  The essential functions of the department include recruiting, safety, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and training and development.


This position supports the Investigation Supervisor focusing on responding to incidents such as theft, fraud, process controls, and ethics violations that occur across the organization to mitigate risk to the firm, our employees, contractors, vendors, and customers.  In addition, this position will be involved in identifying ways to monitor activities to mitigate risk and developing protocols to respond effectively and efficiently to incidents.

  • Analyzes fraud trends, activities and internal procedures; recommends appropriate action; analyze investigative findings to determine control deficiencies and identify appropriate corrective action. Monitor existing practices to ensure applicable policies and practices are being enforced.
  • Analyzes internal inventory systems to identify losses of product categories and transmits to excel worksheets to illustrate areas of shrink improvement needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports to management regarding root causes and related remediation efforts.   Develop and document formalized protocols for common and/or frequently encountered incidents.
  • Conducts inquiries, interviews, and investigations into allegations of theft, fraud, process controls, improper conduct/ethics, and security involving employees and contractors, vendors and all others doing business with the organization. Facilitates progress of the investigation, researches information sources, and secures signed statements from involved parties.
  • Monitor, manage, and recommend improvements to facility security.  Manage and monitor camera system.  Review video footage and other recorded medium to ensure the security of Company assets and personnel.
  • Monitor, manage and maintain market burglar alarm systems & access control systems. 
  • Maintain organized case files and manage the day-to-day execution of organization wide investigation activities. Draft investigation reports, including identification of findings, process improvements and additional recommendations to mitigate risk. Assist with or execute approved course of actions.
  • In concert with our legal team, prepare investigative reports for presentation to regulatory and law enforcement authorities and act as liaison with law enforcement authorities.  Testify in civil and criminal courts and administrative hearings as required.
  • The ability to create loss prevention policies and procedures to support Operations.


The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the Fraud Investigation area
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, task oriented, and have good time management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • PCI Professional Certified Investigator preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing and listening skills, required
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Solid analytical mindset
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office tools
  • Detail oriented; but, able to see big picture
  • Ability to identify issues quickly and propose courses of action
  • Able and willing to travel (<10% of the time)
  • Working knowledge of operating camera systems
