Our department is responsible for acquiring prospects and generating leads through paid search, display and paid social media campaigns. The team manages the strategy, execution, and optimization across channels. We also own the creative, messaging, and delivery to targeted consumers.

Summary:

Come drive organic search growth at one of the country s most recognizable home improvement brands. The SEO Manager (alt: Senior Manager, Director, Sr. Director) is responsible for owning and developing Empire Today s extensive Search Engine Optimization efforts to create a funnel that brings in a constant stream of leads to our websites. This is a unique opportunity to build a best-in-class organic search team combining technical, content, analytics, and UX to deliver results at-scale. The candidate must have deep knowledge and experience using SEO for lead generation, and proven experience owning and driving delivery of clearly measurable business results. In this role, you will own SEO from start to finish. Our ideal candidate has a results-driven resume showing decisive and progressive leadership driving tangible change for the business with meaningful, accelerating customer conversions. This position will report to the Vice President of Digital Marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop SEO strategies to drive significant increases in organic search traffic resulting in measurable growth across all relevant KPIs
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale SEO programs as both a leader and individual contributor. Have a deep, comprehensive understanding of algorithmic updates/changes that informs strategy and recommendations.
  • Leverage Google Core Web Vitals recommendations to improve UX
  • Quickly identify key areas for improvement and growth, focusing on the biggest performance opportunities.
  • Provide performance reporting against goals including analysis and action plans to address any performance gaps.
  • Proactive ideation, addressing key SEO areas site speed, , keyword rank & expansion, content gap and competitive analysis.
  • Effectively manage a diverse team of internal and external resources, including direct report(s)
  • Work closely with web development team to optimize web pages for technical SEO & UX
  • Manage SEO editorial and content marketing efforts. Work with content writers to produce SEO-focused content, but also be able to compose and edit content independently.
  • Responsible for delivering exceptional bottom-line results

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 8-10+ years experience as an established SEO leader, ideally managing large scale projects with a deep understanding of content and technical aspects of SEO; proven track record of driving success and solutions that deliver results.
  • Deep, hands-on experience implementing successful SEO strategies for lead generation, including experience with technical and content optimizations.
  • Proficiency with relevant SEO tools (Moz, Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of relevant aspects of Google Analytics (preferably GA certified) and Google Search Console
  • Experience with HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and schema.org as they relate to SEO
  • Experience with content management systems such as WordPress and Kentico
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors and senior leadership.
  • Ability to write concise, reasoned, and inspired content tailored for SEO.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an orientation to details. Ability to resolve problems at both the strategic and execution levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Exhibit ability to organize thoughts, communicate clearly, completely, and concisely.
  • Possesses strong project management skills and the ability to work well within a team environment and individually.
  • Works well under pressure, thriving and delivering under tight deadlines.
  • Must be a self-starter
