Business Area

Empire Today’s Human Resources department is a critical component to meeting our business needs through managing our most valuable resources – our employees.  The essential functions of the department include recruiting, safety, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and training and development.


The Learning Technology Specialist is responsible for the administration, operation, maintenance and support functions related to the proper functioning of our learning technology ecosystem of hardware and cloud software tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the quality of functioning of our ecosystem of learning tools including corporate learning management system (Bridge), performance and career management system (Bridge), knowledge bases (ScreenSteps), and teleconference and communication tools (Zoom, Skype, Teams).
  • Provide L&D staff with support in the design and development of course and program elements ensuring interoperability within our technology ecosystem.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of course and program standards as necessary.
  • Work closely with talent acquisition, ensuring new employees and business partners have access to learning systems, and those exiting have access rights removed.
  • Oversee the maintenance and distribution of learning technology hardware (tablets) to applicable users across the organization, working closely with IT.
  • Serve as point of contact for all learning technology related issues, providing user support in a prompt and positive manner to end users and L&D team.
  • Orient and train new users to the proper use and functioning of online learning tools and systems.
  • Create and maintain knowledge articles (job aids) for effective use of learning tech.
  • Define, develop, run and distribute training related standard reports, custom reports and dashboards on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
  • Other related duties as assigned


The successful candidate will possess:

  • High School diploma required. Associates/Bachelor’s or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows and learning technology systems (LMS, SCORM, teleconferencing).
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must have high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
