Business Area

Empire Today’s Marketing & Media team promotes our business and drives sales of our products and services. Our department is responsible for acquiring new leads and prospects through television, online pay-per-click, digital, social, and affiliate marketing campaigns. The team manages the strategy, media buying, execution, and optimization across channels. We also own the creative, messaging, and delivery of our message to target consumers, and giving consumers a reason to believe in our brands.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for leading the success of our company’s affiliate marketing programs by owning campaign strategies and optimization, building strong relationships, and establishing clear lines of communication with external partners and internal staff members. The Affiliate Marketing Manager will use problem solving capabilities to ensure sound program execution to meet and exceed company goals and objectives. This position will own day-to-day operations for a significant number of online and offline partners, ensuring that they consistently deliver high-quality leads, while optimizing to the company’s performance goals. To be successful in this role the candidate should be comfortable analyzing and working large amounts of data and have a passion for building and nurturing relationships. The candidate must have deep knowledge and experience in tradition and emerging affiliate marketing channels, and “own” and drive delivery of clearly measurable business results. This person should have high-level skills at both the strategic and tactical levels and superior relationship building skills internally and externally. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Marketing.

  • Lead affiliate marketing strategy, tactical plan development, and implementation across brands.
  • Assumes accountability and ownership of multi-channel affiliate program covering digital, tv, radio, print, etc.
  • Vet and negotiate new or existing affiliate marketing opportunities and identify creative ways to utilize existing channels more effectively. Recruit new publishers, manage existing relationships, and grow market share with key publishers.
  • Knowledgeable of key developments/trends/issues in affiliate marketing, and able to make strategic plans for the company relating to trends.
  • Use tools and research to create overall affiliate marketing strategy which includes budget recommendations, target audience, mix optimizations,
  • Builds and maintains strong professional/interpersonal relationships with affiliate marketing community, ensuring the company is always positioned favorably.
  • Formulates and recommends strategy plans that generate measurable results, with a focus on new and emerging opportunities to help drive the company’s business.
  • Manages budgeting, forecasting, billing and invoicing
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years’ relevant marketing experience as an established media leader in an agency and/or client-side with a proven track record of driving success and solutions that deliver results. You must be able to evaluate, plan and work with all viable media channels.
  • Experience with affiliate network, lead aggregation, and lead flow platforms, such as Invoca and ActiveProspect.
  • Thorough knowledge of the affiliate landscape and publishers.
  • Works well under pressure, thriving under tight deadlines.
  • Can easily work with a wide range of people, including creatives, analytics, senior management, and IT.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors and senior leadership. Ability to write concise, reasoned, and inspired strategy recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities, with an orientation to details.  Ability to resolve problems at both the strategic and execution levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal.  Exhibit ability to organize thoughts, communicate clearly, completely, and concisely.
  • Possesses strong project management skills and has the ability to work well within a team environment and individually. 
  • Understanding and knowledge of online and offline marketing channels (Print, PPC, SEO, email marketing, etc.)
